How Badges Work

Roy Group has joined the thousands of organizations and individuals around the world issuing Open Badges, a new industry standard for communicating accomplishments in a digital format. Each Roy Group badge is a powerful symbol of the course it represents and is coded with the same details found on a paper certificate: the names of the recipient and issuer, a description of the purpose, the issue date, and the criteria met.

Credly provides the platform for verifying, sharing and managing your digital badges and credentials. By connecting to LinkedIn and other social media directly through Credly, you can easily highlight your professional development activities. Roy Group awards badges earned via an email from admin@credly.com, so that you can manage how your badges are shared through your Credly account. Certificates can also be printed and framed to hang in your office or include in your portfolio.

How to Accept Your Badge

Shortly after completion of your Roy Group course, you will receive email instructions on how to Claim Your Badge from admin@credly.com. Follow the instructions in the email or watch this short video.

How to Share Your Badge

You have the power of sharing your Roy Group badge via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook or other social media, to prompt discussions with employers, colleagues, professional associates, clients, potential employers and others about what you are learning from your Roy Group leadership development course experience. Check out this short video on how to use the power of sharing your badge.

How to Manage Your Badge

Upon logging into your Creadly account, from your account menu at the top right of the Dashboard:

Go into Badges, click on individual badges to see custom Recommendations from the issuer or Related opportunities.

Go into Settings to add a secondary email, merge accounts or customize your profile–what others see from your account.

What People See

All social media posts include a link. Viewers who click on the link and/or badge image are directed to the Badge page of your Credly Profile, which shows requirements for the Roy Group Badge, including the date the badge was issued.

Protecting Your Privacy

Roy Group protects the privacy of its clients and course participants by issuing Roy Group badges with a file containing only names and email addresses uploaded to its secure Credly account. Credly is only able to access this data if and when each client/participant chooses to create their own personal Credly account.
